If you want to remove redundant nodes but keep connected objects, you can right-click the relevant node and select the "Delete Nodes" and "Merge Connected Members" options. In addition to members, you can also merge lines in RFEM.
If the geometry of a surface for which you must remove some of the existing boundary lines changes subsequently, you do not need to redefine the surface.
In the case of open cross-sections, the torsional load is removed mainly via secondary torsion, since the St. Venant torsional stiffness is low compared to the warping stiffness. Therefore, warping stiffeners in the cross-section are particularly interesting for the lateral-torsional buckling analysis, as they can significantly reduce the rotation. For this, end plates or welded stiffeners and sections are suitable.
When updating within a version series (for example, RFEM 5.01.01 to 5.01.02), the old program files are removed and replaced by new ones. The project data, of course, remain unchanged. When updating to the next version series (for example, RFEM 5.02.01), the new version is installed in parallel. The program files are located in different directories, so the previous version is still available.
The "Special Selection" function allows you to select model data with specific properties. Starting with version 5.05.0018, it is possible to select loads as well. Furthermore, you can add model data and loads to an existing selection item or remove them from it.
In RF‑/JOINTS Timber, you can remove an individual dowel from the calculation, thus creating any dowel layout. The calculation disregards these removed dowels for the ultimate limit state design, as well as for the net timber cross‑section analysis and the rotational spring stiffness determination.
